Bridal Buying Guide

Choosing a gold bridal set in Islamabad

A bridal set is often the most meaningful piece of jewellery a family buys, and in most Pakistani families it is passed down for generations. At Sonika Jewellers, every bridal set is manufactured in our own Islamabad workshop, so you can see the craftsmanship up close, adjust the design, and know exactly what you are paying for.

Kundan, polki or jadau: what's the difference?

Kundan sets glass or gemstones in highly refined gold foil, giving the bold, regal look most brides choose for the baraat. Polki uses uncut natural diamonds for a softer, vintage sparkle. Jadau is the traditional hand-setting technique behind both, where stones are embedded into gold without prongs. Our karigars work in all three.

How much gold does a bridal set use?

A full bridal set (necklace, earrings, tikka and often a jhoomar) typically ranges from [6 to 15+] tola of 22K gold. Lightweight sets for mehndi and walima start from around [3 tola]. Because we manufacture in-house, we can rework any design to fit your budget by adjusting width, hollow work or stone coverage, without losing the look.

How the price is calculated

Every quote is broken down as gold weight × the day's gold rate, plus making charges, plus the value of any diamonds or precious stones. You receive a written breakdown and a purity certificate with each set. Old gold can be exchanged at the prevailing rate towards your new piece.

When should you order?

Ready-to-wear sets can be taken home the same day. Custom and personalised bridal sets usually take 3–6 weeks, so we recommend booking a consultation two to three months before the wedding, especially during the November–February wedding season.

Bridal set FAQs

Can I customise a set shown here?

Yes. Almost every design can be made heavier or lighter, with different stones, or with a matching tikka, jhoomar or bangles.

Do you provide a purity certificate?

Yes. Each bridal set comes with a certificate stating karat, gross and net weight, and stone details.

Can I exchange my mother's old jewellery?

Yes. We test old gold in front of you and credit it at the day's rate towards your new set.

Do you deliver outside Islamabad?

We serve clients across Islamabad and Rawalpindi in store. For other cities, insured delivery is available on request.
